LeFou is Gaston's minion and the secondary antagonist in Beauty and the Beast. He is short and chubby, with a big nose, and is often mistreated by both Gaston and other characters, much like Mr. Smee in Peter Pan.
In the film, he typically agrees with whatever Gaston says and puts up with getting pushed around. He is the co-lead singer of the song "Gaston", and a supporting singer in its reprise and the climactic "Mob Song." During the attack on the Beast's Castle, he attacks Lumiere the candelabra, but is defeated by Cogsworth the clock. In the stage musical, his role is expanded. He is given more character development and is given another song, "Maison de Lunes," which he sings with Gaston and Monsieur D'Arque. In the musical, he is defeated by the Wardrobe. In both versions it is presumed that he survives the battle and is sentence to jail for his crimes against the prince's servants.
- Due to being humiliated and intimidated by his boss, Lefou is similar to many Disney henchmen such as Mr. Smee from Peter Pan, Sir Hiss from Robin Hood, Mr. Snoops from The Rescuers, Joanna from The Rescuers Down Under, and Fidget from The Great Mouse Detective.
