Gazeem is the minor antagonist of Jafar's sidekick seen at the beginning of "Aladdin". He is first seen riding on his horse toward Jafar, who awaits his information. He informs Jafar that he has managed to steal the other half of the scarab amulet used to summon the Cave of Wonders. While Gazeem wants payment for what he's done, Iago steals the other half of the amulet and Jafar promises Gazeem riches from the Cave of Wonders. As soon as the halves form together, the scarab amulet flies off to the cave's location and they follow it on horseback. When the cave forms the lion head entrance demands to know who woke it up. Gazeem introduces himself and the cave tells him that he may enter. Before Gazeem enters the cave, Jafar tells him that he can have any treasure he likes but the lamp is his.
The lion head entrance, however, can see Gazeem for what he really is, an evil thief, and is not fooled. Gazeem enters the cave and breathes a sigh of relief when suddenly the cave clamps it's mouth shut on top off him, killing him before he can escape. The lion head entrance informs Jafar that Gazeem was not the "Diamond in the Rough" he was seeking and tells him that he may return when he finds him. While Iago is discouraged at this, Jafar calls Gazeem worthless and continues searching for the key to the treasure within the Cave of Wonders.
Gazzeem is somewhat incompetant as he is a coward shown in the beginning of the movie. And he is also known as grumpy, arrogant, zany, evil, emotional, mean-spirited, greedy, acquisitive, zesty, envious, eccentric and mysterious.
Gazeem was voiced by Charlie Adler.
