Brom Bones is the secondary antagonist in the 1949 film, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" segment. He was introduced as the main antagonist, but this was the plot to reveal the true main villain later on. He is voiced by entertainment legend Bing Crosby.
The leader of a group of people known as "the Sleepy Hollow Boys", Brom was a tough, burlesqe man who was always ready for a fight.
When school teacher Ichabod Crane first moved to Sleepy Hollow, it would become all too apparent that he'd become an object of ridicule of Brom and his gang. Ichabod soon gained popularity from all the females in town (lucky dog), while Brom was decreasing in popularity, until one day, when their paths were crossed by a certain woman: Katrina Van Tassel (daughter and only child of Baltus Van Tassel, the richest farmer in the county). Every portal to Katrina's heart was carefully guarded by people who were totally gaga over her, and Ichabod, being the town's ladies man, knew he would soon run ruckshawed over these simple country bumpkins. Katrina, in turn, found him as a way to break free from the monotony of Brom scaring away every potential suitor: Ichabod made Brom handle ALL of Katrina's groceries, and then tripped him over a fence. Now, Brom liked a good joke such as that as much as the next, but enough was enough! He'd rip Crane's lungs out and nail them to a shelf in his own schoolhouse (this, it seemed, was easier said than done). Ichabod bested Brom at every turn, especially during the Van Tassel's Halloween party, in which a humorous endevor by Bom to swich his dance partner with Mena (who was dancing with, you guessed it, Ichabod) ensued. Brom soon got his way, for when it came to be VERY late, Baltus Van Tassel would ask a guest (Brom) to spin a creepy Halloween yarn, and Brom knew that there was no firmer believer in superstitions then Ichabod Crane. So, Brom sang Headless Horseman, and you've never seen Ichabod so scared. That night, Ichabod was heading home, The Headless Horseman came and chased him all through the hollow (where was everybody else when this was happening?) After Ichabod disappeared, Brom married Katrina. Whether it was the real horseman or Brom wearing a disguise has yet to be explained. thats it
